About Dr. Kongchalalai
Amarin Kongchalalai, M.D. is a multi-board-certified specialist in internal medicine, critical care medicine, and pulmonary disease. He has been a physician at Inland Pulmonary Medical Group since 2002.
Born in Thailand, Dr. Kongchalalai attended the Siriraj School of Medicine of Mahidol University in the country’s capital. He graduated in 1985, accumulating a gold medal in pathology, first-class honors and a seventh overall ranking in his class. He completed a residency in internal medicine in 1991 followed by a fellowship in pulmonary medicine in 1993, both at the Siriraj School of Medicine. After traveling to the United States, Dr. Kongchalalai served as the chief resident in internal medicine with Wayne State University in Michigan. His fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine had a dual focus in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.
Before coming to Inland Pulmonary, he worked at hospitals in the United States and Thailand. Dr. Kongchalalai possesses medical licenses in both countries. He is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine in America.
While performing his fellowship, he presented research at the The 12th Asia Pacific Congress on Disease of the Chest in Seoul, South Korea. In addition to being fluent in both English and Thai, Dr. Kongchalalai is conversational in Chinese and Laotian.
